Hot Hungarian Yellow Wax Pepper - 48 Plants
USD 29.99
HOT PEPPERS: When Wilbur Scoville first devised a means to test the heat of peppers, his hottest entry then came in at 20,000 units. Habanero and Thai chilies can go as high as 60,000. Compare that to the sweet bell pepper at zero. When hot peppers are consumed, capsaicinoids bind with pain receptors in the mouth and throat that are responsible for sensing heat. Once activated by the capsaicinoids, these receptors send a message to the brain that the person has consumed something hot. The brain responds to the burning sensation by raising the heart rate, increasing perspiration and release of endorphins. Hot peppers should be eaten with caution! Hot Hungarian Yellow Wax Pepper: A hot version of the sweet banana pepper. 'Hungarian Wax' has about the same heat as a 'Jalapeno'. These medium-hot peppers are especially good for pickling. Canary yellow, then bright red at full maturity. They are 6 to 8 inches long and 2 inches across. Plants are 20 to 24 inches tall. Shipping Options: Shipping begins March 1st, weather permitting. When paying enter the ship date in the "Gift Card" box or in the "Special Instruction" Box. Rainbow Seeds® 150+ Lemon Cucumber Seeds~ Rare Sweet Yellow Heirloom ~
USD 3.49
You are bidding on a package of over 150+ lemon cucumber seeds! The Lemon Cucumber is a wonderful American Heirloom variety that was introduced in 1894. This heirloom cucumber is truly very unique, producing loads of round 2 to 3 inch white-yellow to orange colored fruits(in our opinion they are MUCH sweeter when picked young, dark yellow to orange color indicates that the fruit is overripe) These have an amazing almost sweet fresh taste. Excellent for slicing in salads and can also be used for pickling. The skin is quite tender and unlike many other cucumber varieties, there is no bitter taste at all! I remember the first time we tried the lemon cucumber! It was at our first garden in wisconsin. It was by far the sweetest most refreshing cucumber that we had ever tasted! Since then I have made absolutely sure that they are always a part of our garden! I have yet to find another cucumber that even comes close to being as delisious and refreshing as the wonderful heirloom called Lemon Cucumber! I'm sure that you will agree! If you only plant one vegetable in your garden this year, you better make sure that its the lemon cucumber! :) Growing instructions These are a super easy to grow variety of cucumber! You can either start seeds indoors 3-4 weeks before last frost in pots and then transplant them in the garden after all danger of frost has passed, or simply sow your seeds directly into the garden in a sunny location after danger of serious frost has passed(this is the way I always do it :) Cover your seed with 1/4 inch -1/2 inch of fine soil. They have an average of a 8 to 10 day germination time. Make sure to keep your soil moderately moist during germination. Your plants will grow to about 8-9 feet so make sure to have a trellis for your plants to grow up. Sow 4-6 seeds, 1/2 inch deep, around a 12-inch diameter hill. When seedlings are 1-2 inches tall, thin to 3 plants per hill or if planted in rows 1 foot apart. 65 days to harvest

15+ RARE HONEY YELLOW SWEET MELON SEEDS-Organic
USD 3.99
Honey Yellow (F1) (Cucumis melo) Beautiful, yellow-skinned fruits with sweet, juicy, orange flesh. Not Certified Organic. Many growers use Organic farming methods like natural compost and refrain from using chemical pesticides. But they do not go through the process and expense of getting their crops certified by local or State Agricultural Authorities. This type of seed is my second choice when I cannot find Certified Organic. I understand that farmer's are trying to survive so I do not blame them for not spending extra fees to have the Certified Organic label. I could label all my seeds Certified Organic and who would know? But my ethical standards do not permit me to deceive others so I choose honesty over profit and sales. Description Round to oval-round fruits are uniform, avg. 5" in diameter, and weigh 2-2 1/2 lb. Plants are highly productive, hold up well in the field, and are tolerant of cool weather. Days to Maturity or Bloom: 71

Oncidium Sweet Ears, an easy to grow beginner orchid
USD 9.75
Oncidium Sweet Ears is a great orchid for beginners -- easy to grow and it puts out clouds of lovely yellow and brown flowers. It's similar to the famous "Dancing Lady" orchid. The breeding is Cyrtocidium Sweet Sugar x Oncidium Cloud Ears, but relax and forget all that orchid-speak. Just give it medium light and water, fertilize now and again and wait for it to bloom. As the plant matures, it will have more and more bloom spikes on each successive flowering. If you've always wanted to try growing an orchid but were a little nervous about it, this one is for you. It is a really nice mericlone of an exceptional plant called Onc. Sweet Ears 'Pacific Gold.' These orchids are near blooming size, freshly repotted into 4 inch pots. The plants stand roughly a foot high already. We think they are likely to bloom within 12 to 24 months or so, which is our definition of blooming size. We have a number of these and we'll pick out a nice one for you. We always ship the largest. The picture shows the kind of flowers to expect, and the plants in our greenhouse. We will ship in the pot. Growing tip: Water when almost dry, but don't allow to dry out completely. You can buy with confidence. Orchids from The Orchid Gallery are guaranteed. Period.
