Growing to 12' with a rounded shape, "Giant Fuchsia Gum" is much prized for its highly ornamental, pendulous, bright scarlet-red buds that look so much like Fuchsia flowers in full bloom! Yellow filaments/flowers emerge from buds in large bunches for months in Summer; and the attractive pods remain for months after, providing excellent cut flower material! Drought tolerant once established, E. forrestii needs no fertilizer & is both wind & clay soil tolerant, though well-drained soil is usually recommended. The 2" blooms open in the late afternoon and close again daily. The Four O' Clock plant has a large bushy habit that grows to 36" high and can make a great annual hedge. As an annual flower, these do well in all zones. Perennial when winter temperatures go no lower than 10 degrees F. Mixed colors of Red, Pink, Yellow, White, Rose 18 to 24 inches tall Sow 1/2 deep in full sun.
