USD 2.50

Liven up the shady garden or porch with these vividly-colored violet blooms, which bloom in great profusion all season long. A less common color for Impatiens, this bright violet combines beautifully with the reds, whites, and pinks of more traditional varieties, and is also a fine complement to green-leaved foliage plantings in the shade. You'll want to plant some in containers, too, so you can enjoy the exquisite blooms up close!Accent combines all the good qualities you expect from Impatiens: it's stronger, earlier and longer to bloom, and super-floriferous, with huge 2 1/4-inch blooms all over neat, low-growing 10-inch plants. One of America's absolute favorite Impatiens, it is versatile enough for beds, shady borders, and containers of all types.Accent begins blooming in early spring in the semi- to fully-shaded garden or container, and keeps coming all the way to frost! In southern areas, it has been known to overwinter. Also a fine houseplant, it is not too fussy about soil and is generally carefree and long-lasting! Blooms tend to increase as the season progresses. Pkt is 30 seeds.

Pulmonaria Diana Clare Plant
USD 14.95

Such a carefree delight, this little Pulmonaria is one of my favorite garden plants! Just give it the moist, humus-rich soil it likes, and it will grow and bloom for many years in full to partial shade, sporting super-early blooms of rich violet and silver-laced leaves of green!'Diana Clare' grows in the shady area where our septic tank drains, so you can imagine how happy it is in that rich, moist soil. Selecting a position for this long-lived perennial is really the only tricky thing about growing it -- once you find the right spot, your work is done, and it goes about its glorious color show without making a fuss. Unlike other Pulmonarias, 'Diana Clare' does not even want to be cut back each year -- just leave her alone and she will flourish, eventually reaching 8 to 10 inches tall and spreading 18 inches wide!My favorite part of this plant is the foliage, which brightens the murky shade three seasons out of every year, but I think I'm an exception to the rule. Most gardeners love the late-winter and early-spring blooms of deep violet-blue. Just ½-inch wide, they arise in little clusters of a half dozen or so reaching 1½ inches across. One of the absolute earliest perennials to arise in spring, 'Diana Clare' blooms with the Crocus and is still around to see the Daffodils erupt! Such a nice way to begin the garden year! And 'Diana Clare' is more than just a pretty face. This Lungwort (isn't that a ghastly common name?!) is very robust, tolerating heat and untroubled by rabbits and deer. It quickly forms a multi-crowned plant, giving you more bloom shoots than you'd hoped for. Perfect as a groundcover in the shade or an accent planting in any woodland setting!Space plants 15 to 18 inches apart and get ready to start spring before winter is over next year! Zones 4-8.

Blue Jacaranda Tree 20 Seeds - Tropical
USD 1.19

Even before you see it, you sense its presence. Once in your field of vision, its sizzling, violet-blue floral explosion grabs your attention and holds it fast. The jacaranda is a large deciduous tree with finely textured, fern-like pinnate leaves. Young trees are upright but assume an irregular branching pattern that produces beautifully asymmetric open crowns as the trees age. From April to June, the tree covers itself with showy, trumpet-shaped flowers that are about 1.5 inches wide and arranged in panicles (pyramid shaped clusters) that grow at the tips of branches. Location: There are about 50 species of Jacaranda, most of them native to South America and the Caribbean basin. Jacaranda mimosifolia, the species most often seen in Florida, is native to the Amazon River basin countries of Brazil, Argentina, and Peru. The spectacular Jacaranda is enjoyed as an ornamental in many near-frostless areas all over the world. Culture: Jacaranda prefers enriched, sandy, well drained soils but is tolerant of most soil types. This is not a salt-tolerant plant. Light: Bright, sunny conditions are preferred. This tree will tolerate some shade but will bear fewer flowers. Moisture: Likes moisture but will tolerate some drought. Doesn't like soggy or poorly drained environments. Hardiness: USDA Zones 9 - 11. Propagation: By seed. Selected varieties are grafted. May also be cut from half-ripened wood (treat with rooting hormone). Jacaranda also make an excellent bonsai!

Pole Bean Trionfo Violetto Seeds
USD 3.25

75 days from sowing. Well, you simply must try this stunning violet Italian heirloom. Not only are the pods beautiful, but the foliage even gets into the act, setting purple streaks on its fresh green leaves. And Trionfo Violetto is a heavy producer, tossing up new pods all summer and into fall in some climates. This is a French-type pole bean best harvested at about 6 inches, when it is no wider than a drinking straw. The bite is so succulent and sweet and the flavor truly "beany." Not to mention the plate appeal of that rich purple pod!Beans are among the easiest of all vegetables to grow, and the entire plant improves the soil by fixing nitrogen in the soil. Every garden should grow beans, if just to plow the plants under at the end of the season! Give them sunshine, something to climb, and any well-drained soil, and off they go! Pkt is 100 seeds.

Botanical Interest - Sensitive Plant
USD 1.79

We've all heard of 'shrinking violets', but Sensitive Plant is truly a 'shrinking mimosa'! Its leaves shy away from the slightest touch or heat. Kids love to touch them and watch them curl right before their eyes. An entire branch will droop with increased agitation. With its pink to lilac colored puffball flowers, it is also a nice ornamental, and you can bring it indoors to a sunny window for the winter. Unlike other plants with motor skills, Sensitive Plant is not carnivorous. Naturalized in some parts of the United States, this plant should be confined to containers. All parts are toxic and should not be ingested. When to plant outside: Spring, after average last frost. When to start inside: Sow i
