Colorado Blue Spruce Tree "Fat Albert" Two Gallon
USD 79.98

Colorado Blue Spruce "Fat Albert" is a variety of Picea that maintains a more consistent, deeper blue color than the species, which can vary its color some picking up some blue green hues over time. The Fat Albert spruce is a popular evergreen conifer with a pretty, pyramidal form. This variety of Picea is hardy to USDA zone 2 and higher, giving it many possibilities in the landscape. Consider the Colorado Blue spruce as an accent, windbreak or tall screen. Will eventually be tall enough to screen the view from a second or third story window, but can be clipped to manage size and shape. The blue spruce is gorgeous in estate sized forests of broadleaf and conifers, where it can be especially stunning against the trees and a fresh snow fall. Best of all, this tree can be used as a living Christmas tree if kept in a large container on porch or patio. Its slow growth will enable you to enjoy it for many a holiday. Plant in full sun. Eventually reaching 40 feet, but don't be afraid to clip. Plants are well established and shipped as potted two gallon specimens.

Dwarf Alberta Spruce Tree Two Gallon by Monrovia Growers
USD 49.98

The Dwarf Alberta Spruce is a perfect cone shaped evergreen displaying dense gray green needles which are soft to the touch. The slow growth of this conifer make it an excellent choice as a tub plant or miniature Christmas tree if kept tightly clipped. The Alberta spruce only grows to 6 to 8 feet if not pruned, but can be trimmed to practically any size and shape. This Picea variety would be an excellent living Christmas tree for a senior citizen or any loved one who would have difficulty handling a larger cut tree. The dense growth of this spruce variety means it's also a great screen plant that won't overgrow tight spaces. The Alberta spruce is also a beautiful choice for woodland gardens or behind water features where rich green is desired. Hardy to USDA zone 2 and all higher zone, so can take lots of cold. It does prefer afternoon shade, especially in extreme summer areas. Keep consistently moist. Shipped as a potted 5 gallon specimen in its original soil and container to ensure a healthier start when planted in yard or garden.
