Old Rose Dandy Peony Flower Seeds 30 Seed Pack Easy Grow
USD 2.29

*Comes with 30 seeds. OUTDOOR PROCEDURE: Use the seeds as soon as they are properly ripened. Prepare a nursery bed area somewhere in your garden area. Simply plant the peony seeds much as you would beans. Insert a marker label to delineate the area. Most seeds should make a shoot in the coming spring/summer months. The outdoor planting in early fall gives the seeds their obligatory warm moist treatment, the cold treatment of winter followed by the warming of spring. This sequence is the one mimicked by the indoor treatment. INDOOR PROCEDURE: About the beginning of October fill 4-6 inch pots with moist potting soil. Plant the seeds ~4 cm. apart and ~ 2-21/2 cm. deep. If you wish you may spray the soil with a fungicide (such as 'No-damp') or treat the seeds with a bit of 'bulb' dust. Rotting is not usually a problem. Place the pots in plastic food-storage bags. Tie with a twist tie and place in a warm place (~ 20 deg.C ), leave for about 3 months. During this period the radicle and also a root system will develop. Soil can be carefully removed for periodic inspection without harming the little plants. Simply replace soil and place back in the bags. When radicles and roots are sufficiently developed place the pots in a cold spot (just above freezing). That old fridge in the basement is marvelous for this purpose! Leave in the cold for 2/3/4/months...until SPRING! Select a spot in the garden for a nursery bed. Carefully knock the soil and seedlings out of the pot (keep intact as much as possible) and plant at the same depth as in the pot. Insert a plant marker with the seedling information. Keep planting area moist (mulch). Throughout the summer you will see the first leaves appear. Some seedlings may not put forth leaves until next spring...be patient. Leave the little plants over winter (a further layer of mulch will help them overwinter without heaving) until Aug-Sept the following year.

Pomegranate 30 Seeds - Punica granatum
USD 1.39

Punica granatum has been one of the longest cultivated fruit trees in the old world, highly prized for its flavorful fruit. A native of Asia, the name Punica is the old name for the city of Carthage. This deciduous shrub typically grows to 20 feet tall, is very twiggy, clad with small shiny leaves, held in small groups, giving a slightly 'tufted' look. In spring these emerge a bronzy-green color, and in autumn they turn golden yellow. The scarlet or red-orange flowers have a very conspicuous, red colored calyx and (inferior) ovary, giving them a sort of 'carnation' look. The flower gives was and the ovary enlarges to produce a subglobose fruit 3-5 inches in diameter, becoming a deep wine-red when ripe (hence the color name of 'pomegranate red'). Its unusual interior is composed of sections of seeds covered in a juicy, transleuscent flesh, inbedded in the cream colored walls of the fruit. This structure often spilts open to reveal the ruby-colored seeds, which are the edible portion. These are usually eaten fresh, hand extracted from the surround membrane of the fruit wall. They are also often made into jams or jellies. The cooling, slightly tart juice is ingredient of the drink known as "granadine", with the addition of sugar and water. The plant is very easy to cultivate and is tolerant of a wide variety of conditions. It is quite tolerant of alkaline soils and drought, making it very useful in mediterranean climates. Pomegranates should be placed in the sunniest, warmest part of the yard or orchard for the best fruit, although they will grow and flower in part shade. The attractive foliage, flowers and fruits of the pomegranate, as well as its smallish size make it a excellent landscaping plant. Pomegranate Trees make an excellent bonsai and can be set outside during the summer and moved indoors during the winter.

Belle deCrecy Rose Seeds Packet
USD 4.95

Belle deCrecy Rose seed pack with a free gift in every order! Ten (10) seeds per pack. Old fashion rdouble rose that has been around since early 1800's or earlier. Blooms for 3 to 4 weeks in June. Growing roses from seed is certainly not the fastest method of propagating roses, but it really is the most rewarding. Rose seeds will not be exact. They can be, but do not expect it. They will usually be lighter or darker to parent plant. Some rose hybridizers chill their rose seeds in the refrigerator for about six to ten weeks before planting, to encourage the seeds to germinate better. This is called stratification. Place the seeds about one-half inch deep in a very light mixture of 50% sterile potting soil and 50% vermiculite. Roses are not difficult to grow from seed, if you do it right. If you just put a lot of seeds in a pot of soil, water it, and wait, you'll likely be disappointed. But by using the procedure explained here, you should be able to grow them. First, be aware that each rose seedling is a new, never-before-seen variety. If you plant seeds of 'Don Juan', you will get climbers, large bushes, small bushes, in a variety of colors, with a variety of scents, etc. What you can be completely sure of, though, is that you will not grow another plant of 'Don Juan'. That's true of any variety from which you collect the seed; they don't "come true" to the original type. The probability of your coming up with the next AARS winner is not very good. Kind of like winning at Lotto. However, among the many poor quality seedlings, you will likely produce some plants that you find interesting, and which may be well worth growing. Rose seeds are produced inside the "hips," the fruit of the rose. If you zealously dead-head your roses, you'll not get any hips, since they are produced from the old flowers. Some varieties seldom, if ever, produce hips; others are good producers.
