Organic Snowball Improved Cauliflower Seeds
USD 6.69
The Snowball Improved Cauliflower is a great addition to any garden and a good source of calcium and other vitamins to your dinner. The Snowball Improved Cauliflower has large, snow-white heads that grow to be 6 or 7-inch in size. They are well protected by outer leaves, which is good because cauliflowers don't like very hot nor very cold weather. This variety is reliable and with high yields for the average garden. Do not plant cauliflower seeds directly outdoors, begin the seeds indoors 10 weeks prior to the last spring frost date. Then transplant outdoors 6 weeks later. Placing: Full Sun Planting Depth: 1/4-inch. Spacing: 18-inch. Maturity: 50 - 70 Days Plant Type: Annual 10-percent of all seed sales will be donated to the State Farmers Market Association We feel it's very important to support local farms, farmers and their families. Datil Pepper - 10 Seeds - Very Hot. Distinctive Taste
USD 1.99
HOT PEPPERS: When Wilbur Scoville first devised a means to test the heat of peppers, his hottest entry then came in at 20,000 units. Habanero and Thai chilies can go as high as 60,000. Compare that to the sweet bell pepper at zero. When hot peppers are consumed, capsaicinoids bind with pain receptors in the mouth and throat that are responsible for sensing heat. Once activated by the capsaicinoids, these receptors send a message to the brain that the person has consumed something hot. The brain responds to the burning sensation by raising the heart rate, increasing perspiration and release of endorphins. Hot peppers should be eaten with caution! Datils are similar to habaneros but have a sweeter, fruitier flavor. Their level of spiciness may be anywhere from 100,000 to 300,000 scoville units. The datil pepper is most commonly used to make a sweet but intense hot sauce, and recipes vary widely. One popular sauce is made with tomato paste and other sweet ingredients including brown sugar and honey. Datil pepper is also used in such St. Augustine specialties as clam chowder, pepper relish, and chicken or sausage pilau. The Datil pepper is grown almost exclusively in the Northern Florida city of St. Augustine. St. Augustine is considered to be the oldest city in the United States, founded in 1565. The state of Florida was claimed for Spain in 1516 by Ponce de Leon in what is now the city of St. Augustine. This is where he is said to have found the famed "Fountain of Youth". Who knows, maybe it was really the peppers! The datil peppers didn't come along until much later, actually. Minorcans, descended from the tiny island of Menorca off the coast of Spain, brought the seeds with them to Florida when they settled in St. Augustine in 1777.

USD 1.95
BEWARE OF OTHER COMPANIES ESPECIALLY ONE NAMED "SEEDS DIRECT" THEY ARE COPYING MY LISTINGS ON AMAZON PRETENDING TO BE ME. IF IT DOES NOT SAY "SHIPPED AND SOLD BY CALIFORNIA SEED AND GARDEN COMPANY" IT IS NOT ME. MANY OF THE SEED VARIETIES I SELL NOBODY ELSE HAS. SO YOU WILL FIND OUT THE HARD WAY WHEN YOUR PLANTS DON'T GROW OUT TO WHAT WAS ADVERTISED!! MY NAME IS JIM DUFFY AND I AM THE OWNER OF REFINING FIRE CHILES. NOBODY SELLS MY SEEDS EXCEPT ME! Black Naga (Capsicum chinense)-We believe the origin to be Bangladesh like other Nagas. It grows huge dark brown pods that dwarf the Chocolate Bhut Jolokia. This is the Chocolate version of the King Naga. It also is a very productive plant. Nice sweet heat flavor just like other chocolate chinense varieties. Average heat between 700,000-800,000 Scoville units. The stability of this variety is unknown because not many have grown it. So it is possible you could get red King Naga pods. But in any case a new variety worth growing.

Orange Scorpion-(Capsicum chinense)-This chile was found in a field of Scorpions by a European grower in 2007. Not a true Scorpion but most likely is a cross between a Congo and a Scorpion. It has a nice heat and Scorpion flavor. Pods get slightly wrinkled and some get a pointy end like a Scorpion but most will look more like a Congo pepper. Flavor of this chile is fantastic. If you love the Congo peppers but want a different type of taste and more heat this is it. Plants get over a meter tall and are heavy producers. Pods mature from light green to light orange and can get over 2 inches in diameter. This species also gets a lighter green foliage so don't be afraid to give it more nutrients.
