What is best to put around rose bushes, wheat or pine straw?
Also, what are the advantages or disadvanges to using this over mulch? Thanks for any help. I have new Double Knock Out Roses planted.
I would say the pine needles would be best. With wheat you are most likely to have Seeds Mixed in which will germinate around your rose bushes. As far as being an advantage or disadvantage over mulch, I don't think there is one. Other than pine needles may look better. Either way they would both be considered a mulch. Just make sure whatever you do put down doesn't have any seeds in it or you will be pulling weeds.
