USD 68.00
Habanero White ...we also carry Habanero Orange, Red, Chocolate 95-105 Days. (OP) HOT!!! HOT!!! HOT!!! "Heat registered in BTU's!" Late maturing pepper has fruits with thin walls and lantern shape averaging 2" x 1". Matures to a off-white/creamy yellow color. These beautiful RARE white chilies are extremely hot and have been rated at 300,000+ Scottville Units (10x hotter than standard Jalapeno Pepper). Germinates in 21-26 days 72F. Needs warm temperature for germination. Transplant after first true leaves open. Grow at 62F night temperature and 70F days. "White Habanero" variety. Capsicum chineense. Extreme heat; USE WITH CAUTION. Even when planting, rubber gloves are advised. A chili variety that originated in Peru. Important to start indoors as it needs extended growing time; needs a long growing season of approx. 100 days. Fruit is only 1" long but abundant quantities per plant & a beautiful creamy ivory color. Needs a lot of sun & grows to a height of 20" Growing Information: Start seeds indoors using a good potting soil. Bury the seeds about ¼" and press down lightly. Keep the soil moist and warm. Seeds may take three to four weeks to germinate. They can be sown directly outdoors after the danger of frost has passed. But they require about 70-90 days to mature, so a head start is recommended for maximum yield. Transplant outdoors after the second set of leaves has developed. Little care is required other than weeding and watering. Holding back water during the fruiting period is said to increase the potency of the pepper. Keep in mind that habanero is a tropical pepper, so soil (not just air) temperature is important in germination. A heat lamp, such as would be used for reptiles is suitable for increasing soil temperature. Many tropical peppers take a few weeks to germiante with new seeds germinating for several weeks thereafter.

Datil Pepper - 10 Seeds - Very Hot. Distinctive Taste
USD 1.90
HOT PEPPERS: When Wilbur Scoville first devised a means to test the heat of peppers, his hottest entry then came in at 20,000 units. Habanero and Thai chilies can go as high as 60,000. Compare that to the sweet bell pepper at zero. When hot peppers are consumed, capsaicinoids bind with pain receptors in the mouth and throat that are responsible for sensing heat. Once activated by the capsaicinoids, these receptors send a message to the brain that the person has consumed something hot. The brain responds to the burning sensation by raising the heart rate, increasing perspiration and release of endorphins. Hot peppers should be eaten with caution! Datils are similar to habaneros but have a sweeter, fruitier flavor. Their level of spiciness may be anywhere from 100,000 to 300,000 scoville units. The datil pepper is most commonly used to make a sweet but intense hot sauce, and recipes vary widely. One popular sauce is made with tomato paste and other sweet ingredients including brown sugar and honey. Datil pepper is also used in such St. Augustine specialties as clam chowder, pepper relish, and chicken or sausage pilau. The Datil pepper is grown almost exclusively in the Northern Florida city of St. Augustine. St. Augustine is considered to be the oldest city in the United States, founded in 1565. The state of Florida was claimed for Spain in 1516 by Ponce de Leon in what is now the city of St. Augustine. This is where he is said to have found the famed "Fountain of Youth". Who knows, maybe it was really the peppers! The datil peppers didn't come along until much later, actually. Minorcans, descended from the tiny island of Menorca off the coast of Spain, brought the seeds with them to Florida when they settled in St. Augustine in 1777.

This is the Chocolate version of the King Naga. It also is a very productive plant. Nice sweet heat flavor just like other chocolate chinense varieties. Average heat between 700,000-800,000 Scoville units. The stability of this variety is unknown because not many have grown it. So it is possible you could get red King Naga pods. But in any case a new variety worth growing.
