Pumice for soil mix cactus succulent bonsai - 8 gallons
USD 59.99
This listing is for pumice size less than 1/2 inch in diameter (screened through 1/2 inch screen). For sale is the pictured pumice which has been cleaned and floated in water to remove other rocks and soil. You get very pure pumice only. I have found pumice to be superior to perlite and vermeculite which tend to break down (turn to powder) and float to the top of the soil with time. THIS LISTING IS FOR 8 GALLONS WEIGHING APPROXIMATELY 30 POUNDS. It will be sent in 2 PRIORITY mail large flat rate boxes and one PRIORITY mail regular flat rate box (as pictured). My total postage cost is $38.25. Please contact me if you are looking for a larger quantity and I will meet your needs. NO AMOUNT TOO LARGE! Just ask. Pumice is an excellent additive for soil mix. Pumice improves drainage and contributes to moisture retention. Drainage is a must for these types of plants. A good cactus/succulent soil mix should contain two to three parts drainage material to one part organic material: Good for stem succulents. Euphorbias and Haworthias both like this more freely draining mix. The majority of Cacti would do well too. Adjustments are needed for different climates. If it is colder, darker, or more humid, add more drainage. You might find 2 parts drainage to 1 parts organic to be the minimum. Plants tolerate more drainage material better than they tolerate less drainage material.

This is a beautiful blue and white hand painted oval bonsai pot. Since they are hand painted and hand made, no two will be exactly alike. The dimensions of this pot are 10X5X2". It has a large drainage hole in the bottom. This pot makes an excellent pot for display and for enhancing any bonsai for long term use, or as a saikei (landscape) for indoor use with tropicals. Creating a landscape in a pot is great for indoor use with tropicals, rock and small accent plants. Also great for cactus and succulents. Let your imagination go and create something of beauty that will enhance any room in your home The bonsai pots presented here were hand crafted, then finished in a wood fired kiln, done in the ancient methods of millennia ago. In researching the ancient art of bonsai of Japan I discovered that in the Edo period from 1603 to 1868 a number of bonsai grown in the royal gardens of that time were in colorful glazed pots. The most popular being blue and white glazed with hand painted designs. Other popular colors were greens, blues, yellows and browns. Since everything was done by hand, there will be variations in the sizes, shape and designs of the pots and none will have the factory stamped out look. The quality is very high and you will enjoy owning something unique and different from the ordinary. Maiban stands behind its products and will cheerfully refund your purchase (less the shipping costs) if you are not totally satisfied

Colorful Cactus Suncatcher Garden - 3" Clay Pot
USD 14.99
Cacti & Succulent Care Many people tend to think that cacti and succulents are too difficult to care for and decide against even buying them. As it turns out, many people are simply caring for them too much or too often. Cacti and succulents will do quite well under the same conditions which would be considered neglect with other plants. -Watering- The most common problem people have with cacti and succulent plants is overwatering. They are 'water storing' plants and will do better with less water than they will with more. Water Cacti and succulents thouroghly and allow them to dry out completely between watering. If you are not sure if the soil is completely dried out it is useful to stick your finger in the soil (1" or so if necessary) to see if the soil is dry. Many plants will be potted with a sand or grit topping, be sure to check the soil for moisture, not just the topping. If you are still not sure and think it may be too moist, don't water it! Overwatering can lead to disease and rot and will kill your cactus and succulent plants! -Light- Cacti and succulent plants love bright sun and will do quite well on a windowsill or on a porch. There are some species however, that will do better in the shade, or partly sunny places. These include some species of haworthias and aloes. If you think your plant is being dried out or damaged from the direct sun, move it to a less bright location. If you have a plant in a location where there is little or no sunlight and notice it is stretching, it is a good idea to move it into a brighter location. -Temperature- Cacti and succulent plants can survive a wide range of temperatures, but it is preferable that they are kept in a warm bright location for the best results, and the most beautiful color.

Senita Whisker Cactus 15 Seeds - Lophocereus schottii
USD 2.99
Lophocereus schottii is one of the most showy succulent plants, an eye stopper. These cacti are natives of southern Arizona and Mexico. These slow-growing cacti are suitable for growing as landscape plants, in greenhouses, outdoor containers, and in a window garden. Maybe with a lot of luck, you'll even be able to grow a Lophocereus schottii monstrosus, a monstruous seedling. This is a very distinctive species and easy to recognise, the tall stems being covered in sharp needle like grey spines towards their uppermost parts. The tall stems branch from the base and eventually form clumps 6 to 21 tall and are 4½ to 5 in diameter. The stems as they mature become more spiny above than below. Occasionally the ends of stems will spiral a little or dramatically in a right or left hand manner. Such top cuttings are much prized by Californian enthusiasts, fetching high prices.Flowers are produced mostly from the upper stems. The species is nocturnal flowering. On mature plants the flowers are greenish white on the underside and pinkish white inside and emit an unpleasant odour. The fruits are as red as ripe strawberries and are seldom seen, as they are quickly taken by hungry desert birds. The fruits reach 1 ½ inch in diameter and are spineless and fleshy when mature.Hardiness zones 9-10, (-5°C/25°F, 1°C/35°F). This species presents no problems in cultivation and will do well in a sunny spot in a cactus house in a gritty soil mix and let the soil dry out between waterings. They will tolerate severe drought if they have a large colony of stems.
