Instant Cactus Collection-3 Different Plants 3.25" pots
USD 19.99
You will get an assortment, 3 different species of Cacti and Succulents growing in 3.25" pots, similar to the ones pictured. Cacti & Succulent Care Many people tend to think that cacti and succulents are too difficult to care for and decide against even buying them. As it turns out, many people are simply caring for them too much or too often. Cacti and succulents will do quite well under the same conditions which would be considered neglect with other plants. -Watering- The most common problem people have with cacti and succulent plants is overwatering. They are 'water storing' plants and will do better with less water than they will with more. Since every situation is considerably different, there is not set time interval for when to water cacti and succulents. Many factors play a role in the timing (such as humidity, light, and temperature). General Rule: Water Cacti and succulents thouroghly and allow them to dry out completely between watering. If you are not sure if the soil is completely dried out it is useful to stick your finger in the soil (1" or so if necessary) to see if the soil is dry. Many plants will be potted with a sand or grit topping, be sure to check the soil for moisture, not just the topping. If you are still not sure and think it may be too moist, don't water it! Overwatering can lead to disease and rot and will kill your cactus and succulent plants! -Light- Cacti and succulent plants love bright sun and will do quite well on a windowsill or on a porch. There are some species however, that will do better in the shade, or partly sunny places. These include some species of haworthias and aloes. If you think your plant is being dried out or damaged from the direct sun, move it to a less bright location. If you have a plant in a location where there is little or no sunlight and notice it is stretching, it is a good idea to move it into a brighter location.

Mixed Melocactus Cactus 20 Seeds - Mixed Species
USD 2.85
Similar to barrel cacti when young but from their crown a large tuft of bristles will emerge in time. Produces small pink flowers and edible fruits. Melocactus includes about 50 species. They grow wild in the stony highlands of Mexico, the West Indies, Central America, Peru and Northern Brazil. Melocactus grows in dry areas where rainwater quickly disappears and moist air from the sea provides the necessary humidity. Blooming time: Melocactus is as round as a ball with many strong, thorny ribs. The plant is not mature enough to flower until it is 6 to 10 years old. At this stage its appearance changes. An orange or reddish hairy outgrowth called a cephalium develops at the top of the cactus. Small reddish, self pollinating flowers grow at the top of the cephalium. When flowering is over, red or white berries appear. Culture: Melocactus needs a well drained, very light and porous soil so water won't remain around the roots and block the flow of air through the soil. Soil should be made of equal parts cactus soil and pumice, with pot fragments in the bottom of the pot for drainage. Melocactus grows from April to October. It needs plenty of light and more heat than other cacti. Water regularly, but allow the soil to dry quite a bit before watering again. Melocactus rests from October to April. During this time water sparingly. Keep the soil on the dry side, but make sure the roots never dry out. This calls for great care when watering. Do not feed in winter.

Golden Barrel Cactus - Echinocactus grusonii
USD 12.95
CACTUS: Cactus, the common name for a family of desert plants. The plural is cacti or cactuses. Most species bear sharp, needlelike spines, which protect the plants from foraging desert animals. Cacti are famed for their ability to resist drought, which they owe to the fact that moisture from inside the plant evaporates very slowly through the plant's skin. Cacti grow in hundreds of different shapes. The fibrous, juicy stems may be globular, cylindrical, branched, trailing and vinelike, ribbed, grooved, or knob-bearing. Only two species have true leaves. The rest of the 2,000 species are leafless. Country of Origin: Central Mexico. Description: Originating in Mexico, this popular cactus reaches up to 6 ft (1.8 m) in height and spread. It has a single, globe-shaped, pale green body that stretches upwards in maturity, becoming barrel-shaped. This stem is heavily ribbed with numerous areoles sprouting radial, yellow spines. In summer, larger cacti produce a circle of vivid, yellow flowers from a crown at the top of the plant. Culture: Frost tender but resistant to very dry conditions, they grow best in well-drained soil and a position in full sun, which will help to maintain the lustre of the spines and longevity of the flowers. Propagate from cuttings or seed. USDA Zone: 9-12. Excellent house plant! The plant you will receive is in a 2.5" pot, well rooted, and about 2" tall! Similar to the one pictured above.
